95 | The Shepherd’s Bush Murders

Play episode

This ‘hidden gem’ of a story is truly fascinating.

Here are the victims.

Christopher Head (30) was a career-driven CID agent who joined the police force in 1958 and was well-liked and popular with his peers. He was the front seat passenger and the last man to be killed.

Sitting in the backseat was Detective Constable Wombwell (25), who had two young children (a three year and eighteen month). He was ambitious, very smart, and a “rising star” in the police force. He was the first man to die.

Jeffery Fox (41) was the driver and the second man to be killed. Fox had 3 children and served in the Royal Navy during the war before joining the force in 1950.
