Luka Magnotta – 1 Lunatic, 1 Icepick

🎙️ Listen on iTunes / Google Play / Spotify 🎙️

Hey guys, a massive shout out to our friends and supporter Savannah from Charlotte for requesting this story to me.

On May 25th, 2012, someone uploaded a home video to a popular gore website showing a 33-year-old male tied up and lying on an apartment bed.

In the background of the dimly lit room is a Casablanca movie poster. The hit single New Order by True Faith is also heard playing over some speakers.

The video itself is a little over ten minutes in length and is accurately titled 1 Lunatic, 1 Icepick.

Luka Magnotta grew up Eric Newman in Scarborough (East of Toronto). He was the oldest of three and lived in a dysfunctional household.

Eric was close to his grandmother Phyllis and depended on her when his father left home.

Peers degraded Eric, and his family would call him a “faggot.”

He was labeled as “forgettable” by his high school peers and home-schooled after his grandmother claimed that the real world was a “dirty and dangerous place.

In 2005 Newman was convicted on fraud charges after attempting to scam a mentally disabled girl by opening up several credit cards account in her name. (Can someone find more source information on these charges?)

In 2006 Eric Newman completely transformed his image and legally changed his name to Luka Rocco Magnotta.

Magnotta eventually moves to Miami as seen in a post he made on an online forum.

Luka is great at Photoshop

Luka’s first porn appearance was in His First Huge Cock and has appeared in many other films Daddy Mugs and Bad Puppy.

Luka also starred in multiple modeling shows including Cover Boy and Plastic Makes Perfect.

I added all the Luka Magnotta videos to this Youtube playlist for your watching pleasures.

I pulled a majority of this episode’s content from Killer Clown – The John Wayne Gacy Murders by Terry Sullivan.

We started on December 11, 1978 with the disappearance of Robert Jerome Piest, 15 at the time of his murder by Gacy. By family accounts, Rob was a great kid and very close with both his mother and father.

15-year-old Robert Piest was John Gacy’s last victim.

 “I’m Sorry Bianca”

Wow, this story is seriously f*cked. Over this weekend (Saturday) a girl named Bianca Michelle Devins was murdered by a psycho “ex-boyfriend.

Her throat was “cut deeply” and the gory photos were posted on various social media sites.

“Well, I shouldn’t say ex-boyfriend, and according to @bebestgf (a close friend of hers) claims that she just thought of him as a friend.

Here is a tweet from Bianca’s internet friend.

Here is an interview with one of Bianca’s online friends.

FInd huge savings on retail prices at

This is a post from Bianca’s sister explaining that her killer was a close family friend.

According to the interview above, Bianca was immature because she was traumatized when she was younger.

Here is a post I found from an anonymous poster so I can not attest to its validity.

Bianca was known to be quite promiscuous, and Brandon may have been extremely jealous over her.

This is a conversation believed to be between Bianca and Brandon.

Brandon Andrew Clark (also known as Brandon Kuwaliski) is a 21-year-old from New York.

On July 14, hours before he killed Bianca, Brandon posted suicide plans on social media. According to the Utica Police Department, Brandon was taken into custody amidst his suicide attempt.

Bianca’s last known location before her death was at a small concert of a relatively unknown artist.

Brandon Clark found out that Bianca was at the show, so he drove to meet her there and documented everything on Instagram under the name @yesjuliet.

Upon arrival, Brandon pulled Bianca away from the concert, talking to her one last time ( I do not know about what ) before he cut deeply into her throat.

He then moved her body from the murder site to his Ford Explorer and took two photos, one for his Instagram story with the caption, “I’m sorry Bianca.”

Police were alerted to the location of the body from one of Bianca’s online friends using Snapmaps.

Brandon tried to kill himself with a knife in his throat before police arrived, but he was unsuccessful in his attempts.

However, he did have time to post about it on social media.

The horrific torture and murder of 12-year-old Shanda Sharer

Hey guys, I pulled my research from Cruel Sacrifice, which is free for Kindle Unlimited subscribers here. If you really ❤️ this story, please share the post. Thanks y’all.

Why Did Four Teenage Girls Torture And Burn Alive 12-year-old Shanda Sharer In 1992?

12-year-old Shanda Sharer

Shanda Sharer was once a popular and bubbly Hazelwood Middle Schoolgirl. By all accounts, her outgoing personality meant that it was easy for her to make new friends.

However, it was this outgoingness that started a terrifying chain of events one evening at a local school dance. It was at this 1991 dance where Shanda Sharer met up with a former classmate Amanda Heavrin and the chemistry between the two girls quickly sparked, and they soon became romantic.

Outside the dance, tempers started to brew as the couple was confronted by 16-year-old Melinda Loveless, who previously dated Heavrin and was now extremely jealous of this new relationship.

Over the next few weeks, Loveless threatened Sharer at school and even started sending notes to Heavrin claiming that she wanted her new partner dead.

Nobody realized just how far Melinda Loveless was willing to go, especially not to brutally murder Sharer. But Melinda Loveless came from an abusive home, where she would see her mother assaulted by her father most nights.

To protect her daughter, Sharer’s mother transferred her to Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic School.

However, even moving her daughter would not protect her from the gruesome chain of events.

 The Abduction

It was bitterly cold the night on January 10, 1992, and a teenage girl Melinda Loveless enlists three of her friends – Laurie Tackett, 17, Hope Rippey, 15, and Toni Lawrence – to help carry out one of the most senseless and brutal assaults and murders in Indiana history.

By most accounts, Melinda Loveless was the only girl of the four that knew Sharer was going to die that night, bringing along with her a sharp knife.

This night Sharer was spending the weekend with her father, and the girls drove to her house claiming that they wanted to take her to see her girlfriend Heavrin.

Sharer instructed the girls to come back after her parents went to sleep. They did, but Sharer had no idea that in the backseat Melinda Loveless was hidden under a blanket ready to surprise her with knife.

The meeting place Sharer thought they were going was the Witch’s Castle, a local and isolated abandoned home that was a popular hangout amongst the local teens.

Tortured and assaulted for eight hours

The jealous lover and ringleader, Melinda Loveless, leaped from the back of the car and held the knife against Sharer’s throat. At this point, Sharer must have known that there was never a plan to take her to see her girlfriend and that she was in for an awful night.

From top left: Melinda Loveless, Laurie Tackett, Hope Rippey, and Toni Lawrence.

The foursome drove Sharer to a remote location, where everyone but Loveless imagined that she just wanted to scare the shit out of Shanda, but as it turns out, they were dead wrong.

For nearly eight hours, the girls sexually assaulted and tortured Shanda Sharer, except for Toni Lawrence which refused to participate in the heinous act.

At a remote trash dump in a densely overgrown area, Loveless and her gang stripped the clothes from Sharer’s body, punched her repeatedly, sprayed window cleaner into her eyes.

Sharer was screaming, but since the girls were down a remote path, no-one could hear those screams for help.

The torture continued for hours before the girls tossed Sharer into the back of the car’s trunk. They attempted to slit Sharer’s throat, but the knife brought by Loveless was too dull, so instead, they repeatedly stabbed her in the chest. Believing Sharer is now dead they drove to Laurie Tackett’s home to clean up and drink sodas. They had no idea that their victim was screaming inside the car’s trunk.

From the house, Tackett and Loveless drive off together where they find another remote location and stab Sharer several more times before sodomizing her with a tire iron. They return to Tackett’s house and joke to their friend Rippey about what they just did.

Now approaching dawn the foursome stop at a gas station and purchase a two-liter bottle of Pepsi, which they drink and immediately refill with gasoline.

The girls then drive to another remote location, where the body was eventually found by a local hunter Don Foley the next morning, and pull Sharer out of the trunk. Wrapped in a blanket and whimpering the word “mommy” in a defeated tone, the girls then drag Shanda Sharer to a clearing in the forest.

The girls pour gasoline from the now filled Pepsi bottle and watch her as she is burned alive.

The killers drive off but shortly come back to the body, where they believed she was completely burned up with no trace evidence. Upon seeing that she was not, they repeated the process of burning her body again.

Shanda Sharer’s back.
Knife wound in head.
Knife wound in neck.

 Sausage biscuits at McDonalds

Besides the brutal murder of Shanda Sharer, one of the most disturbing facts of this case is that the girls ate breakfast at McDonald’s immediately after the torturous ordeal and killing. The girls laughed as they were comparing their sausage breakfast with Shanda Sharer’s charred body.

Later that afternoon, Loveless called her ex-girlfriend Heavrin to brag about what she and her friends did to Sharer. Heavrin did not believe that anyone could commit such an awful murder and played it off as a joke.

Around this time Lawrence (who refused to participate) and Rippey went to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s office where they confessed to the murder. The next day, murderous four were all in handcuffs, and the investigation had begun.

The spot where Shanda Sharer was burned alive.

The State of Indiana decided to try all of the girls involved in the murder as adults and all four accepted a plea bargain from the State to avoid the death penalty.

Lawrence and Rippey who were less involved in the torture, received 20 years and 50 years respectively, and both are now out of prison.

Tackett and Loveless both received a 60-year sentence and are still serving time till this day.

In one recorded interview, Tackett said, “I didn’t know Shanda at all. I didn’t go into that eventing knowing anything was going to happen, wanting anything to happen.” Tackett then blames her role on “peer pressure” from Melinda Loveless.

Laurie Tackett also appeared on the Dr. Phil show to explain her role in the murder.

 Loveless now

As previously stated, Melinda Loveless did have a rough childhood, being a victim of sexual abuse by her father, a Vietnam veteran. The father was later arrested for his abusive behavior and convicted.

The Indiana prison system is attempting to rehabilitate Loveless, enrolling her in a program called ICAN, or Indiana Canine Assistant Network where she trains puppies to become service dogs for the disabled.

The progress so inspired Shanda’s mother so much that she has made that she donated a puppy named Angel for her to train.

I personally hope there can eventually be full forgiveness for this awful crime.

TM2M Specials: The Strange Case of Missing Misty Copsey?

 “SEPTEMBER 17, 1992”

Do you like Huey Lewis and the News? Their early work was a little too… ‘new wave’ for my taste.

Thanks Supremo Shannon for clearing this up for me.

Twice a year Puyallup hosts a large fair where thousands show up to ride the Ferris wheel and throw those darts at the balloons hoping to when a giant stuffed turtle (or something).

This September the fair attracted the very successful Huey Lewis and The News and was sure to be a huge success.

People of all ages would attend this year including 14-year-old Misty Copsey and her BFF Trina Bevard.

The two were close, real close.

Misty Copsey (left) with her friend Trina Bevard.

They each had nicknames for each other.

Misty was “Bunyan,” and Trina was “Bean.”

The girls wanted to go to the fair, the only problem being they didn’t have a ride home.

After constant lobbying to her mother, Diana, she had finally agreed to let her daughter go and even committed to dropping her off as long as she would ride the bus back home before her curfew. *Misty thought initially of riding the bus idea and also mapped out possible routes back to Spanaway where she lived.

Diana would have certainly picked the girls back up if it wasn’t for her work schedule that night.

As a caregiver, she was watching over a 97-year-old Alzheimer’s patient in South Spanaway.

Misty’s plan was to hop on the bus at 8:40 and beat her mother home that evening. Diana agreed.

And here is where everything goes sour, real quick.

About five minutes after Misty’s bus left the station, Diana received her phone call.

“Mom, I missed the bus.”

She said she could get a ride with Rheuban Schmidt, an 18-year-old friend of hers who owned a car, though it was a junker.

Diana immediately said no way and told her figure out an alternative plan. *Diana’s Distrust for Schmidt will come into play later in this story.

Misty agreed and promised to call her mother back as soon as she found a new ride home.

That call never came.

Let’s veer off the path for a few minutes so that I can introduce a very enigmatic – or maybe ‘weird’ would be a better adjective – character and Puyallup man by the name of Cory Bobber.

Corey Bober.

Nearly a decade before Misty has pronounced a missing person Bober was badgering police about a possible suspect for the Green River Killer (who we now know was Gary Ridgeway).

Trust me this all ties into Misty.

Cory is agoraphobic, doesn’t drive, doesn’t leave the house, and is continuously annoying everyone that unfortunately crosses his path.

Cory has been referred to as a “walking run-on sentence, a human flood of words.” A pot-head who thinks he knows more than law-enforcement.

A pot-head who thinks he knows more than law-enforcement.

And in many cases, he does.

You see, a few days before Misty Copsey disappeared Cory Bober contacted the Puyallup Police Department and warned them that a local teenage girl would be abducted.

How did he know this?

Unlike you wanna-be ‘sleuths’ (including me I guess) out there who make the occasional Reddit or post on Webslueths thinking you’re solving crimes, Cory lives it.

He’s investigated over 200 missing or deceased women in Western Washington in stacks of binders.

He’s a nuisance to law-enforcement because he tries to conduct his interviews from grieving parents, witnesses, possible killers, and has even personally obtained the autopsy reports for the Copsey’s case (supposed to be sealed tight).

From my research, I found he is relentless often making a long rambling post about how podcast covering the Copsey case has missed important clues and is just trying to pump their audience numbers.

No shame here. Hey Cory.

Bober knows the Copsey case inside and out, every detail down to the minute.

It was September 13, 1992 when the lightbulb in Corey Bober’s head started flickering.

The two girls he was referring to was the 1988 murder of Kim Delange, 15, and the 1990 murder of Anna Chebetnoy, 14 (I believe both victims have been officially credited to Gary Ridgeway).

Kim Delange (left) and Anna Chebetnoy.

Cory Bober knew who the killer was; in fact, he is sure it was a fellow Puyallup resident named Randell Dean Achziger.

Of course, we know now that Achziger is not the Green River Killer, Gary Ridgeway is, but I guess you can’t blame Bober for trying.

And by trying I mean for years, Bober had spied on Achziger, filling binders full of every detail about this life – family history, contact with cops, addresses, employer information, all spanning back 50 years.

He called Achziger’s friends, co-workers, and family members pressing for any information to prove his theory.

He interviewed ex-lovers, undercover record video of Achziger and even had tape after tape of illegally recorded telephone calls.

It is probably also worth a mention that at one point law enforcement did take Bober’s theory under consideration, but ultimately ruled out Randell Achziger as the Green River Killer.

Misty was an only child of Diana and Paul “Buck” Copsey, and after her birth, the parents split up leaving Diana as the primary caretaker.

By all accounts, Misty was a fantastic student who thrived in sports.

She played both basketball and volleyball, but her true passion has always been softball.

As the primary caregiver, life was rough on Diana, and she often turned to the bottle to get her through the day today.

I couldn’t find any evidence of domestic or sexual abuse within the family. Furthermore, from what Trina told the police, Misty lived an average home life and was even excited about a new stereo and wardrobe her mother just splurged on her.

Even though the mother was drinking heavily, she did seem to be progressing. The mother and daughter duo eventually moving from Green Meadows, a South Hill trailer park to a duplex in Spanaway.

Misty knew that she was now living in a safer environment, but she missed her Green Meadow friends and was often lonely. By the summer of 1992 Misty started to blossom. She was taller than most girls and began to develop as a teenager. The boys around town started to notice Misty.

Yeah, I would also be super pissed if I heard an 18-year-old college dropout and druggie say that to my daughter on the phone.

You would let your daughter date this guy right??

Of course, when Rheuban Schmidt said that he had no idea Misty’s mother was listening.

According to a police interview with Trina, the girls called Rheuban Schmidt that night an asked him for a ride.

He refused, claiming he did not have enough gas to make it there. Misty told him to go to her house, grab the key under the doormat and grab some cash, fill your tank, and then get us.

However, Schmidt again refused to say he didn’t even have enough gas to make the six-mile journey to her home.

When the police finally interviewed Schmidt (nearly six months after Misty vanished), Schmidt verified Trina’s story.

However, Schmidt then told detectives that he suffers from blackouts and on that night does not remember anything or how he ended up at his grandmother’s 100-acre farm the next morning.

Schmidt ended up taking two polygraph test after he finally told detectives he knew where Misty’s body was buried.

According to him, he just wanted the law off his back. The first test was inconclusive, and the examiner noticed that Rheuban was purposely trying to put himself to sleep during the test.

Tired of the lack of progress being made by the local law enforcement, Cory Bober decided to send out his own search party.

After somehow prying out the body dump location of Kim Delange and Anna Chebetnoy from the medical examiner Bober set up his search party.

Diana searching through brush, 11-28-92 (Source: News Tribune file)

Misty’s jeans were found off highway 410, close to the where the other girls were thrown.

I don’t believe in psychics claims that they know information about the case that detectives don’t see.

To me, it feels like most psychics make claims, prey on the desperation of the families, and hope to get featured in the newspapers as being the one to solve the case.

Anyway, one psychic named Terry Schwartz did stumble upon a fascinating piece of Misty’s case on March 12, 1993.

Walking from the spot where Misty’s jeans were found took him to a small burial spot featuring a wooden cross with the name, Misty.

Investigators were quickly dispatched believing they may finally unearth the missing girl’s remains.

As they dug into the earth, they indeed did find bones. The detectives discovered the bones of a dead cat.

For interest in time and the fact that I need a break from this case, I am ending it here.

There are many suspects that you can look up for yourself.

Please also post anything you find in the comment section, and I may shout you out on the next podcast episode.

On June 17, 2015, Dylann Storm Roof, a miseducated white supremacist, walked into a historic Charleston, SC church and committed one of the worst mass murders and hate crimes in the nation’s history.

The four-year anniversary is next week, which is why I really wanted to cover this episode this week.

Fitness instructor and mother of three, Terri “Missy” Bevers, 45, was brutally stabbed to death inside a Texas church shortly before she was scheduled to lead an early morning fitness class on April 18, 2016.

Just minutes before her death around 4: am the Creekside Church of Christ motion-activated security cameras
On April 18, 2016, a CCTV video at the recorded the following video.

The killer is oddly dressed in full SWAT gear, and the hammer he or she is wielding becomes the ultimate murder weapon used to bludgeon Missy to death.

According to police, Bevers died of “multiple puncture wounds” to her head and chest consistent with what the suspect on surveillance was seen carrying.

  • As a fitness trainer, Missy would teach 5 am classes at the community church. (she was murdered shortly before one of these classes)
  • Missy was also a married mother of three and very active in the community.
  • Missy and her husband, Brandon Bevers, were reported to have both financial and marital issues.
  • Brandon was 600 miles away on a fishing trip during the murder.
  • The killer can be anywhere between 5 ft 2 in and 5 ft 7 in.
  • Killer has a distinctive walking gait (notice the persons right foot in the video)
  • A 2010- 2012 Nissan Altima (not yet identified) was seen driving through the parking hours before the murder. Entered 1:58am and exited 2:04am (See video)

  • A burglar – I would not consider a burglar to be a plausible killer, even though it is thought that the person in the video was smashing the glass and opening doors to possible make it look like a break-in, however, this was at 4: am.
  • The husband Brandon Beavers – has been ruled out due to him being 600 miles away on a fishing trip at the time.
  • Randy Bevers (Missy’s father-in-law) – everything points to Randy, such as:
  1. A few days after Missy was murdered, Randy Bevers was noticed bringing a blood-stained shirt to the cleaners, a woman’s XXL t-shirt. Randy claimed it was blood from a dog injury; supposedly, his vet confirmed the story.
  2. Randy is around the same height and weight as the person in the surveillance footage.
  3. Randy has a motive of freeing his son from a financially strained relationship; Missy may have been cheating on her husband as well some reports say.
  4. Randy has a nearly identical walking gait. (watch video)

Here is the husband, Brandon Bevers giving a statement to reporters:

*However, apparently Randy Bevers has an alibi and was traveling to California during the time of the murder.

What a crazy coincidence that both father and son would be out of town during the murder. 🤔

Episode 60: Cosmo DiNardo And His Killer Backhoe

Okay, guys, this is an interesting murder case requested by Talko Supremo Mike that reminds me so much of the Dellen Millard case that we covered last year. Here we have yet another son of a multi-millionaire and complete screw-up. Seriously, what’s with these guys?

This episode takes place in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, which I’ve never been but have heard the cheesesteaks are pretty epic. I decided to begin the story with a press conference delivered by the Bucks County District Attorney, Matthew D. Weintraub.

The press conference from July 13, 2017, walks the public through the careful excavation of 4 human bodies, 3 of inside one mass grave.

What’s more, the human remains were those of kids all under the age of 25 years old.

Jimi Patrick, 19, was a sophomore business major at Loyola University (a name that I still can’t pronounce correctly).

Dean Finocchiaro

Thomas C. Meo, 21, who had diabetes and insulin dependent who’s car was soon found missing in the killer’s parent’s garage.

And Mark Sturgis, 22, who was friends with Meo and were killed together.

The masterminds behind this horrific story were two cousins Cosmo DiNardo (who I call Dellen Millard 2.0) and Sean Kratz.

In a nutshell, Cosmo DiNardo is a rich kid with wealthy parents who for some reason also sells weed (what he calls “firewood”).

Although DiNardo confessed to the killings and burying the bodies in a 12 1/2 foot hole dug with a backhoe, he never explained why he killed these kids.

You could say it was drug deals gone bad, but when you research the case, you can quickly see that it is more of a senseless case than anything else.

One of the big arguments that I chose to focus on in this episode was the fact that Cosmo DiNardo at one time suffered from an ATV accident and suffered brain damage; even though I could not confirm or find any medical reports or brain scans for this.

However, I was interested in going down the frontal lobe damage route, especially since I personally just completed hyperbaric oxygen treatment to treat my brain with frontal lobe damage.

So was it brain damage or not?

If you listened to the episode, you would hear that I dug up as many testimonials of former friends of DiNardo’s and girls that he has tried to date, and the majority of people claimed that he capable of these murders even before his ATV accident.

So I seriously don’t believe that this is an excuse for killing four other kids.

Another senseless murder I guess.

TM2M Specials: Christine Sullivan and Jenna Pellegrini

Okay, okay I know I was a little rough on the Amazon Echo conspiracy, and I know some of yall will probably tell me how much you love yours. So my apologies for that!

I’ve wanted to do an episode like this (where an Amazon device is used in court) for quite a while so thank you, Supremo Kira, for suggesting it to me.

This case was pretty straight forward so I’ll just quickly run through it.

Christine Sullivan, 48 and her friend Jenna Pellegrini, 32 were found dead early Sunday, Jan. 27, 2017, by homeowner Dean Smoronk (super-shady guy) at 979 Meaderboro Road in Farmington, NH.

The Chief Medical Examiner found that both victims suffered multiple stab wounds and Sullivan suffered from additional blunt impact injuries.

Dean V. Smoronk was dating (albeit on-and-off) Christine Sullivan at the time, and the couple was reportedly going through a troubled and physically abusive relationship.

The double homicide was carried out by a neighbor and possible acquaintance of Deans’ Timothy Verrill (now in custody preparing to stand trial).

Although  Verrill hasn’t admitted Dean’s involvement (yet), it won’t be a big shocker for me if he does.

Okay now, let’s jump down the rabbit hole.

The murders were drug-related, and sources say that Timothy Verrill killed the two women after discovering that Jenna Pellegrini was a police informant – or to put it in Hollywood gangsta terms – a “rat.”

In 2014 Smoronk was arrested in Sumter County, SC (a long way from Farmington) for “illicit drugs” and bomb-making material.

After researching this and noticing a “super-eerie” lack of news sources covering this arrest and his subsequent release I found these Anonymous videos:

and this one.

Feel free to research this, although I’m stepping back after my recent Bill Clinton accusations.

Anyways, the rest is pretty cut and dry.

Bonnie & Clyde – The True, Untold Story Of America’s Most Infamous Crime Duo

👋 Hi Jon here, if you liked this episode please share this post. It really helps us a lot. Thanks

*blue links are photos

Hey guys, I was so excited to research this story, and I hope I do it some justice. The research was way more robust than I thought due to the multiple people involved in the story. But I tried my best, and I hope you guys enjoy it, and if you do, please share this post so other people can enjoy as well.

E.B. Wheeler, Polk Ivy, and H.D. Murphy, three Texas patrol officers were traveling northwest on Highway 114 and Dove Road, just west of Grapevine, Texas. The police trio cruised by a black Ford V8 with yellow wheels which were parked off the side road.

The junior officers, E.B. Wheeler, and H.D. Murphy pulled on to the road thinking that the men standing by the car were having automobile troubles and stopped to give assistance to them. Polk Ivy kept going, not noticing the absence of his junior officers.

Neither officer expected any trouble. However, they also did not realize they were now in the presence of America’s most notorious and wanted crime gang,

Clyde Barrow grabbed a sawed-off shotgun and hid behind the car, while his crony Henry Methvin grabbed a Browning automatic rifle. Clyde, wanting to kidnap the officers tells Methvin, “Let’s take ’em,’ and unfortunately for the officers, Methvin translated the command as to shoot the officers.

A local farmer claims he witnessed the entire incident and agreed to be interviewed on the video to be shown with Fox’s Movietone News.

Bonnie Meets Clyde

Okay so maybe I am a sap for thinking that this is a love story just as much as a one filled with brutal and senseless murders.

Clyde grew up in the West Dallas slums separated from his dreams and aspirations by the Trinity River. Clyde’s father Henry was a junk man, which made Clyde Barrow the “lowest of the low.”

From Jeff Guinn’s best-selling Go Town Together:

Jim Wright, who spent some of his teenage years in Dallas and grew up to become speaker of the U.S. House of Represenatives, recalled that even amoung Dallas middle-class youth,”I would not say West Dalls residents were considered subhman, but they certainly were thought to be less than everybody else in every way. You wouldn’t want to be friends with, let alone date, a kid from West Dallas.”

West Dallas was also known as ‘The Devil’s Backdoor,’ ‘The Bogg,’ ‘Cement City’, and my personal favorite, ‘The Monument to Poverty.’ So to put it simply, Clyde had no chance to become what he desired to become, which was wealthy and famous.

Bonnie, on the other hand, grew up in a more respectable home.

Her father, Charles, was a brick mason (then a respectable occupation) and the specialty of his skill allowed Parker’s access to a better life than that of the West Dallas slums.

That all changed in 1914 when Charles passed away unexpectedly leaving his wife Emma to raise her three daughters (to include Bonnie) by herself.

The good thing that came from this was the opportunity in which the couple met.

On January 5, 1930, Clyde walked into 105 Herbert Street, where he met Bonnie Parker, and from this day forward no force in the world could separate the two.

Clyde Barrow started as a small-time criminal, but eventually, the law (or “the laws” as he called it) caught up with him, and he was sent to Eastham Prison Farm. This is when most people believe that Clyde Barrow ‘hardened up’ to become the cold-blooded killer he eventually became.

It is well known that for nearly a year at Eastham Clyde was continually sodomized and humiliated by a former inmate Ed Crowder. Clyde with a fellow inmate decided to kill Crowder once and for all.

Using a heavy lead pipe Clyde bashed Ed’s skull in and his partner in crime repeatedly stabbed him until death. Clyde was eventually paroled from Eastham Prison and this day forth vowed never to return as he told his family,

I would rather die than go back to that hell-hole!

Dear Sir: – While I still have got breath in my lungs I will tell you what a dandy car you make. I have drove Fords exclusively when I could get away with one. For sustained speed and freedom from trouble the Ford has got ever other car skinned and even if my business hasen’t been strickly legal it don’t hurt enything to tell you what a fine car you got in the V8 – Yours truly Clyde Champion Barrow

Clydes Ford V-8 Flathead

April 30, 1932 marked the transition point for young Clyde Barrow and his Barrow Gang with the murder of 60-year-old John Bucher. Clyde claimed to his family that it was a simple robbery gone bad, when John Bucher was shot dead in front of his wife.

Clyde claimed to be the getaway driver and had no part in the killings, although stories on this conflict. Either way, Clyde and the Barrow Gang are now wanted for the murder of old-man Bucher.

On April 13th, 1933, Bonnie Parker’s dream of becoming famous finally became a reality. Somehow Clyde managed to narrowly escape by ramming an armored police cruiser out of his path.

Once inspecting the house detectives find that the entire gang left all of their personal belongings, including a camera with unprocessed film. This film was processed, leaked to the media, and America fell in love with Bonnie and Clyde.

Both Bonnie’s family as well as Clydes knew that their crime spree couldn’t possible go on forever and that there was only one obvious outcome. Clyde would have never given himself up, so the only other option was death. Bonnie being loyal decided that was going to be her fate as well.

Frank Hamer was the one most credited for bringing down the infamous couple. Both Bonnie and Clyde were shot numerous times when Hamer and other law enforcement ambused the crime couple in Louisiana.

With over 25 bullets in each body, they were driven through the local town as a public spectacle. Bonnie and Clyde died that day, but their story lives on.

TM2M Specials: Donald Rudolph & The Grisly Triple Slaying In Weymouth, MA

Hey, guys this weeks Talko Special is for our Supremo Shannon from Weymouth, Mass.

What makes this case so interesting is even till this day the courts have not tried the killer or found him guilty in any way.

Our episode starts on November 10, 2011, in Weymouth, Massachusets at 10 Upland Rd.

10 Upland Road Weymouth, MA. Photo:

Police respond to a call about suspicious activity at the residence, apparently concerned neighbors had called 911.

When police pull up to the home, they spot a young male through the first-floor window.

The policemen apprehend the suspect as he was attempting to escape out of the back window in the basement.
The suspect’s name is Donald Rudolph, a thinly-looking teenager, some of his arresting officers recognize that for previous violations.

The police reports, which unfortunately our court sealed at this time, state that one of the officers hears Rudolph mumble, “I fucked up, you’ll see when you go inside the house.”

Police noticed that Rudolph was disoriented, confused, and covered from head to toe in human blood.

Inside the house was nothing short of a massacre.

It may be hard to imagine how much blood would have soaked the floors and furniture of the home until you realize that three people were laying slain in the house, all murdered with hammers and knives.

Frederick Medina, 52, was the first to be discovered by the police and according to assistant Norfolk District Attorney, Craig Kowalski,

“Mr. Medina was found lying on his back, on the floor, with his shirt soaked in blood and his throat slit.”

Mr. Medina also was stabbed several times in the torso.

In the garage lay both Rudolph’s mother Paula,50, and his sister Caylin,24.

The garage where the mother and daughter were murdered. Photo credit:

The immense amount of blood and a nearby bloody hammer suggested to police that both women died by beating; Caylin was also repeatedly stabbed.

Rudolph’s sister, Caylin, 24. Photo credit:

“There was an extreme amount of stab wounds to Mr. Medina’s body, as well as Caylin Rudolph’s body,’’ said Kowalski.

Found next to Medina’s dead body was a bloody hammer and knife, and even more, knives were found wrapped inside a placemat on the kitchen table.

Rudolph’s mother Paula, 50. Photo credit:

Rudolph was charged with three counts of murder and three counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and at the time was being held without bail.

One month after Rudolph was arrested he wrote letters addressed to his dead mother and sister, both which he had brutally murdered, to ask about their health.

The Rudolph family prior to the murders.

Donald Rudolph was sent to Bridgewater State Hospital to be diagnosed before standing trial for the murders; he was ultimately deemed not competent to stand trial.

Till this day he has not been deemed competent to stand trial and it is little doubt that he will ever be.

52: Edmund Kemper, The Co-Ed Killer, And His Severe Mommy Issues

This episode was as exciting as it was gruesome.

I’ve wanted to cover Kemper for such a long time, because of John Douglas’s accounts from Mind Hunter and Robert Ressler’s accounts from Whoever Fights Monsters.

Kemper could have played basketball 🏀

I began this episode after the murders on April 24, 1973, when Edmund Kemper phones Santa Cruz Police Department from a Pueblo, California phone booth and confesses to all ten murders.

What is immediately apparent about Kemper is his size. Standing 6’10” and nearly 300 pounds he is often referred to as “Big Ed.”

At first, the Santa Cruz officers accuse Edmund of prank calling the station, and it is only when he calls back and starts naming police officers is he taken seriously.

A Pueblo police cruiser pulls up to Kemper’s location and immediately notice his massive size; so tall that Kemper could comfortably rest his hands on top of the phone booth while police were searching him for weapons.

Edmund Kemper needs to watch his head often, so he doesn’t run into the top of the door frame.

Once in custody, a full narrative is composed of Kemper, often referred to as the “co-ed killer” that is too shocking and gruesome to believe.

“I wanted to know how it felt to kill grandma.”

What were you doing at age fifteen?

Whatever it was, you probably weren’t sitting in a mental institution for murdering both of your grandparents.

Edmund was.

On August 27, 1984, he shot his grandmother with a .22 caliber rifle as she was sitting at the dining room table, working on a children’s book.

Kemper didn’t stop there though shooting to death his grandfather as he walked through the front door carrying a bag filled with groceries.

Edmund Emil Kemper and Maude Matilda Hughey Kemper. Ed shot his grandfather because “he didn’t want him to have a heart attack” once he saw that his wife was dead

Diagnosed with an I.Q. of 136 🤓

On December 6, 1964, Kemper was sent to a Juvenile Hall while the California Youth Authority decided what to do with him.

It seemed that the organization never came across someone quite like Ed Kemper (you know, the killing your grandparent’s type).

Initially, he was diagnosed as a passive-aggressive type with psychosis and paranoia and was also described as having a higher than average I.Q. of 136.

Both Steve Jobs and Einstein are thought to have an I.Q. of 160.

What’s your I.Q.? Let me know in the comments below for a shout-out on a future episode!

Kemper spent five years in the Atascadero State Hospital until he was paroled back to his mother under the scrutiny of several doctors.

Getting a taste for killing

Supposedly, Kemper’s first victims (besides his grandparents) were murdered on May 7, 1972.

After picking up Mary Ann Pesce and Anita Mary Luchessa from the Santa Cruz University, Kemper drives to a secluded location where he murdered both women.

Anita Mary Luchessa
Mary Ann Pesce

In an interview, Kemper describes how he initially believed he locked his car keys in the trunk of the car with one of the deceased victims; later finding them inside his back pocket.

Did Edmund Kemper have a type?

Throughout the episode, I try to drive home the fact that Kemper was killing his mother, over and over, similar to how Ted Bundy was killing his ex-girlfriend, over and over.

Not literally, but for Ted Bundy at least, his victims resembled his ex-girlfriend.

Kemper’s victims, however, were random and the only thing most of them had in common was that they were either university girls or hitchhikers.

Case in point, the murder of Aiko Koo on September 14, 1972.

Koo was not a college student; she was a fifteen-year-old ballet student who had just missed her bus home.

Taking a chance, Koo decided to take a ride with a total stranger and unfortunately for her that stranger was Edmund Kemper.

Being brazen is an understatement for Big Ed

Two days after Aiko Koo goes missing, in the trunk of Kemper’s car, he visits two court-appointed psychiatrists who evaluate his behavior since being detained in Atascadero State Hospital.

This is what one of the reports about Kemper.

“If I were to see this patient without having any history available or getting any history from him, I would think that we’re dealing with a very well adjusted young man who had initiative, intelligence and who was free of any psychiatric illnesses… It is my opinion that he has made a very excellent response to the years of treatment and rehabilitation and I would see no psychiatric reason to consider him to be of any danger to himself or to any member of society… [and] since it may allow him more freedom as an adult to develop his potential, I would consider it reasonable to have a permanent expunction of his juvenile records.”

Little did the doctors know that Aiko’s severed head was still in the trunk of his Ford Galaxie 500.

Edmund Kemper’s 1969 Ford Galaxie 500 (hardtop edition) had sufficient trunk space for his many adventures.

Can you see now me mama? I’m outside your window.

Rosalind Thorpe and Liu Alice accepted a ride from Kemper in the university parking lot, which then was both immediately shot point-blank once getting into the car.

The unbelievable-but-true thing about this murder was that as both of the girls were moaning (and dying) in the passengers and backseat of the car, Edmund was forced to pass through campus security and be cleared by two security officers.

Neither of the two guards noticed the girls moaning in the car.

Or maybe merely thought they were drunk?

Either way, they waved Big Ed on, and he left the campus without question.

Rosalind Thorpe and Alice LiuRosalind Thorpe and Alice Liu Mon, Mar 5, 1973 – Page 1 · Santa Cruz Sentinel (Santa Cruz, California) ·

In an interview, Kemper describes beheading the two girls in front of his mother’s house while she was inside, presumably drunk.

Edmunds mother’s (and childhood) home.

Goodbye mother

Well, we knew this day was coming.

Kemper finally realizes all these murders have “got to stop” and the only way to do that is to kill his mother eventually.

Of course, you’ll have to listen to the episode (or watch the interviews below) to get the full picture, but it’s pretty disturbing.

It involves beheading and garbage disposals, and honestly, I’m too sickened even to type it out, so listen to the episode.

Edmunds mother, Clarnell Stage.

Will Edmund Kemper ever be paroled?

Kemper is still in prison. However, he is up for parole every seven years.

Here his latest parole transcript if you have time to read all 157 pages.

If not, know that Kemper claims that he is happy in prison and doesn’t want to get out.

Kemper has quite the life in prison and even doing positive things for the community.

Like reading audiobooks for blind people.

Would you want to listen to serial killer Edmund Kemper read you a night-night story? Let me know in the comments below for a future show shout-out!

Here are the interview tapes I found with Edmund Kemper. Thanks to youtube.

The Senseless & Brutal Murder Of 16 Year Old Benjamin Eastman

🎙️Episode 51: Listen to it on iTunes / Google Play / Spotify🎙️

Hey guys, this episode and blog post will discuss the senseless, cruel, and just plain evil murder of 16-year-old Benjamin Eastman iii from Randle, Washington.

Photo of Benjamin Eastman, 16

On June 24, 2018, Benjamin Eastman went missing and is officially reported to the Lewis County Police Office on June 27th.

On June 28 police find his body in a shallow grave during a search for the missing teen.

Eastman was last seen by his father as they were together playing Ben’s favorite video game Rocket League until around 3 AM (June 23) when they both went to bed.

Who goes camping at 3 in the morning??

The next morning Ben was gone; however, the father did not find this unusual due to his son being a sociable teenage kid.

Plus with a population of 1,700 in Randle, it was tough to imagine anything happening to such a small community.

Cell phone records showed that Ben received several calls from his childhood friend (since kindergarten) Benito “Benny” Marquez, who was also sixteen at the time.

Messages showed Benito inviting Benjamin to go camping, keep in mind this is around 3 am.

When questioned Benny tells Benjamin’s father and investigators that he did invite Benjamin camping, but he never showed up.

Did you really think detectives are this dumb?

On June 28th, 2 am according to the Facebook post, Benito Marquez posts a missing flyer of his friend on his wall urging anyone with information to contact Benjamin’s father.

Benito Marquez posted this missing child flyer on his Facebook wall. Reading the message carefully you will see that Benny refers to his missing childhood friend as “him” instead of his name, which according to Dr. Phil is a red flag.

Later that same day on June 28th, police releases a press release saying that they are currently searching for both 16-year-old Benito Marquez and his 21-year-old brother Jonathon Adamson.

Detectives claim that they received a tip about the shallow grave which leads them to a remote site belonging to Benito’s grandfather.

The tip leads them first to an empty grave, and when questioned about it, Benito claimed that it was for a dog that he was going to bury.

*This first grave will become important later in the story

Detectives kept searching and eventually did find another shallow grave containing the missing teenager Benjamin Eastman.

The shallow grave was covered up haphazardly and marked with sticks forming the shape of a cross.

No words can describe these Evil Brothers

Both Benito and his older brother Jonathon were arrested on June 29th, nearly 125 miles away as they were trying to leave the area.

Both brothers were initially charged in Eastman’s death and were facing identical charges including first-degree murder, first-degree rape, tampering with physical evidence and unlawful disposal of remains.

According to court documents, the brothers lured Benjamin Eastman into camping on June 24th intending to murder him

After knocking the boy on the ground, they kicked and threw stones at his head and body more than 100 times for a period of up to 45 minutes.

“We knew that he would not suspect that we were going to kill him and used that trust to our advantage,” says Adamson

At one point the boy breaks free and escapes to his assailant’s car, locking himself inside, but Adamson unlocks the vehicle, pulls him back on the ground and resumes beating him to his death.

Adamson then takes a box cutter which he uses to slice open Eastman’s back.

Next, the two brothers find a stick, and as Marquez holds the head and shoulders, Adamson pulls down the boy’s trousers and uses the stick to assault him sexually.

Next one of the brothers pick up a large stone and forces it down on Benjamin’s head assuring his death.

Then the brothers strip Eastman of his clothes, which they burn, and using a shovel that they brought for this purpose they bury Eastman’s remains.

The reason there was the first grave was that the brothers were worried that someone would come across the shallow grave, so they decided to relocate the body to Benito’s relative’s property.

If momma says so.

In a shocking twist of events, 43-year-old Kindra Adamson (the mother of both boys) is arrested on July 10th and charged in the 1st degree of rendering criminal assistance.

Knowing about the murder for several days, Kindra Adamson not only lied to detectives, but she delayed the police which allowed her sons to flee the area.

The mother, Kindra Adamson was arrested for helping her sons flee the area and lying to detectives.

Kindra pleads not guilty but later changes her plea to guilty.

Most shockingly, the mother was there when her boys were burning Eastman’s clothes, and she instructed them to relocate the body to the second location.

The mother faced a maximum of 20 years in prison, but she took a plea bargain agreeing to testify against her sons.

She received 14 months in prison. (do you think this is a fair sentence? comment below)

Should I tell my fiancee??

On July 11th, Jonathon Adamson’s fiancee, Emma Brown was also charged with two counts of rendering criminal assistance.

The fiancee of Jonathon, Emma Brown, was also arrested or rendering criminal assistance.

By noontime on July 13th, Jonathon’s fiancee, Emma Brown, makes bail and is released back home to care for her baby.

Benjamin’s father talks to Dr. Phil.

So initially I was going to put these interviews in the podcast episode, but I then remembered that I don’t know if I’m allowed to do that, and I don’t want to be sued.

So here they are embedded on Talk murder:

Have fun in prison boys.

On Feb. 22 Benito was expected to plead guilty, which he changed from his initial not guilty plea and agreed to be a witness at his older brother’s trial.

The reason he did this was to use the Miller-fix, and according to a post from the Washington Defender Association, essentially mandates that a juvenile receives a 25-year sentence for an aggravated murder conviction – “with an opportunity for release after serving the minimum 25-year sentence.”

Jonathon Adamson was also expected to plead guilty but later changed his mind.

Benito, now 17 years old was sentenced to 413 months, just over 34 years, in prison. However, he can apply for an early release after 20 years, because he was a minor at the time of the murder.

On February 28th, 2019 Jonathon Adamson pleads not guilty to new charges brought against him including first-degree aggravated murder, first-degree murder, first-degree kidnapping, first-degree rape, first-degree assault, first-degree rendering criminal assistance, tampering with physical evidence, unlawful disposal of remains and two counts of tampering with a witness.

Something positive to end this episode?

Okay, I have three small positive things, even though they are nowhere in comparison to the horrible murder of Benjamin Eastman, but here they are.

The Miami Dolphins honored the family (Benjamin was a huge fan) with a signed helmet and presented to his father.

Benjamin’s school also dedicated his old locker as a memorial for him as well, which in my opinion was pretty rad.

Lastly, if you want to support the family in this awful time, please donate on their GoFundMe page here.

Don’t forget to tell me your thoughts below!

50: Gypsy Rose Blanchard – The Unbelievable, But True Story Ends In Murder

I believed I titled this accurately as the unbelievable, but true story of Gypsy Rose Blanchard, because that is precisely what it is.

I decided to start the story with the police finding the deceased body of the mother, Dee Dee Blanchard on June 14, 2015, in her home in Greene County, Missouri,

Police arrived around 5 PM after worried neighbors called the police and requested a check. The neighbors were concerned because the mother Dee Dee and her daughter Gypsy was not answering the door, even though the family car was in the driveway.

Police find Dee Dee’s dead body on June 14, 2015, lying face down in her bed.

Due to a low-light film covering the home’s windows, police were having trouble looking in the house. As they waited for a search warrant, they gave a neighbor quasi-permission David Blanchard (no relation to Dee Dee) to enter the home through an unlocked window.

Once inside David doesn’t see anything suspicious and tells the Springfield News-Leader “I didn’t notice anything that would indicate anything wrong.”

David and his wife Kim would later set up a GoFundMe account which was then deleted and the money refunded. There were speculations that David purposely denied seeing the body to receive donations in the GoFundMe account, but was never proven.

Dee Dee Blanchard murdered and left in her bed for 36 hours.

Once the search warrant arrived, the police could finally enter the home where they found the mother Dee Dee Blanchard face down and deceased in her bed with multiple stab wounds in her back.

Chief Forensic investigator for Green County Sheriff’s office Thomas Vandeberg says “rigor mortis was passing which takes 24 to 36 hours, her face was very dark and her skin was starting to slip when we moved her body.”

Police were initially called due to a strange Facebook post posted from the mother Dee Dee’s account

Where is Gypsy Rose Blanchard?

Friends and neighbors were shocked to see that Gypsy was missing and that an unknown assailant may have abducted her.

Gypsy was gone, but her medical supplies were still in the home. Her wheelchair was still there, her feeding tube was still there, among all of her other medications.

Gypsy’s was paralyzed from her waist down and needed a wheelchair to move around.
Gypsy’s medicine cabinet was full when the police arrived at the home.

Gypsy was suffering from a variety of illnesses and disorders.

  • Leukemia – cancer of the white blood cells was causing Gypsy’s hair to fall out and according to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, leukemia is the second leading cause of cancer death among children, adolescents and young adults younger than 20 years.
  • Muscular dystrophy – a group of more than 30 inherited diseases, causing muscle weakness and muscle loss
  • Respiratory issues – from childhood Dee Dee claimed that Gypsy had sleep apnea which causes people to stop breathing or use shallow breathing during sleep
  • Asthma since she was three years old
  • Impaired vision and hearing – Gypsy suffered from a lazy eye and poor vision which is why she always wore thick glasses and even had eye surgery in an attempt to strengthening her muscles in her eye.
  • Epilepsy
  • Paralyzed from the waist down
  • Retardation
  • GI Reflux
  • Anemia
  • Hypoventilation (Gypsy had a CPAP at age 10)
  • Allergies (including sugar)
  • Incontinence
  • Lung disease
  • Heart mummer

Gypsy and Dee Dee were receiving gifts, money, and benefits from Habitat For Humanity, The Ronald McDonald Fund, and Make-a-Wish Foundation.

Gypsy would get free movie tickets, a trip to Disney World, a new home from Habitat for Humanity, help from the Ronald McDonald House, Make-a-Wish Foundation, and even individual meetups with celebrities like Elijah Wood. – Ronald McDonald

Things are not always how they appear.

Here’s where this story gets strange.

Gypsy had none of the disorders mentioned above, in fact, by all accounts she is 100% healthy. She was not paralyzed from the waist down and functioned as a perfectly normal girl.

Gypsy was also into BDSM and cosplay (costume play).

Dee Dee Blanchard suspected of having Munchausen Syndrome by Proxy.

An expert best explains factitious disorder (also known as Munchausen Syndrome ‘by Proxy’). Here is a Law and Crime Network interview I found on Youtube from Munchausen syndrome expert Dr. Marc Feldman.

After hundreds of doctor visits, why and how did very few medical experts recognize the mother’s Munchausen disorder?

A few did. Including a pediatric neurologist, Bernardo Flasterstein from Springfield MO was one of the first experts to think Dee Dee suffered from Munchausen disorder stating, “I don’t see any reason why she doesn’t walk.”

Doctors also learned from muscle biopsy’s that Gypsy did not have muscular dystrophy.

Gypsy kept a ‘secret’ cellphone and would meet men on internet dating sites.

Gypsy met her boyfriend of three years, Nicholas Godejohn, on a Christian dating website. This relationship would eventually lead to the murder of Dee Dee Blanchard and the couple’s brief escape.

Gypsy and her boyfriend of three years Nicholas Godejohn secretly plotted to kill her mother and then leave town.

Before Gypsy and Nicholas left home they stole $4,000 from the mother, got a taxi and went for a Days Inn Motel in Springfield, MO

Videos of CCTV from local shops around town captured the couple.

The final verdicts.

Gypsy was found guilty and sentenced to 10 years in prison. Many people believe that Gypsy is innocent; in fact, there is a petition online that is focused on finding justice for Gypsy Rose Blanchard.

Nicholas Godejohn was sentenced to life in prison without parole.

Do you think these sentences are fair? Comment below.

49: Butchered – The Axeman Of New Orleans

*Please note some photos and episode video is restricted for members only. For more information about joining click here.

I’m pretty stoked that TM2M is releasing one hometown murder each week and there’s no better way than to start with a gruesome ‘murder by gaslight’  type of story like this one.

BIG SHOUT-OUT to Tyler for requesting this story. Honestly, I probably would of never even heard of this one if he didn’t.

Lace up your shoes and sharpen your axes, because you guys are in for a real treat!

The drink tonight is the Jazz Fest cocktail, which was as good as it looks in the picture.

I decided to start the story with one of the most brutal cases from the Axeman so please forgive me.

It’s four days after Mardi Gras, so March 9, 1919, and around 3 am in the morning at the home of Charles Cortimiglia, his wife Rosie, and (sadly) their 2 year old daughter Mary.

This content is restricted to subscribers

A neighbor, Frank Jordano, 17 and his sister Lena, 20 are one of the first to witness the gruesome murder that took place just several feet away from their own beds.

Charles suffered two severe cuts through the top of his skull so deep that it cut into the soft tissue of his brain. Swelling of his brain inside the skull resulted in brain matter to ooze out through the fractured bone.

Rosie suffered several deep gashes in the head and one to her left ear.

The two year old daughter, Mary, died instantly. Her burial days later would be known as “one of the saddest funerals ever held in Jefferson Parrish.”

Once Dr. Jerome Landry arrives to the scene he immediately performs a craniotomy on Mrs. Cortimiglia which will help relieve built up pressure caused by swelling in her skull.

*Keep in mind anesthesia wasn’t as common of a practice as it is today.

Who was the Axeman and was he so successful during his reign of terror?

As for who, no one will most likely ever know. As for his successful killings and evasion of local police, we could start to answer by defining his M.O (modus operandi).

  • For the majority of his murders he used a weapon (either an axe, cleaver, or hatchet) that was owned by his victim.
  • The Axeman would enter into the residence by chiseling out a panel and removing it (usually near the kitchen).
*The left side of this image shows the panel the Axeman would crawl through.
  • The Axeman would only attack Italian grocery owners (more on that later).
  • He would discard the murder weapon in the home, usually by throwing it under stairs or in the tall grass outside.
  • Not all of his victims would end up dying as in the photo below of John Andollina showing off his axe wound.

Why was the Axeman only targeting Italian grocery owners?

To answer this we must first dive into a brief history of New Orleans.

New Orleans was founded on May 7, 1718 and named after Philippe II ‘Duke of Orleans’.

Hey man, nice tights.

New Orleans was and still is a melting pot of culture and, in fact, since it’s founding the city has went through 6 different national affiliations.

In Justin Nystrom’s (professor of history at Loyola University of New Orleans) book – New Orleans after the Civil War: Race, Politics, and a New Birth of Freedom

“In 1860 New Orleans stood at the apex of it’s wealth and strength. With nearly 170,000 residents in 1860, it was nearly 4 times the size of Charleston or Richmond. New Orlean’s strategic location on the Mississippi River combined with westward expansion and the advent of steam powered river transportation, had transformed it from its status as a colonial port at the time of the Louisiana Purchase into the unrivaled economic capitol of the antebellum South.”

The Italians (mostly from Sicily) migrated here and were slaves (although paid, measly wages of course) and would work along side the West African slaves.

This is where the Italians got there name “Dagoes” from.

The Italians were hard working and frugal with the little money they did earn; eventually saving enough to start local groceries.

The Axeman’s first kill.

The first known attack by the Axeman happened on a Saturday night August 13, 1910 at John and Harriet Crutti’s home.

Harriet Crutti

John Crutti

On this particular night, maybe because it was his first attempt, the Axeman demanded cash from Harriet saying, “Give me your money or I’ll do to you what I just did to your husband!”

John Crutti was injured pretty bad when the police arrived, but ultimately he survived the brutal attack and recovered fully.

Harriet did provide a description to the police:

  • 36 or 37 years old
  • 5 feet 6 inches tall
  • broad shoulders
  • clean shaven
  • dark hari
  • thick nose and lips
  • rough husky voice
  • dark trousers
  • loose blue workingman’s shirt
  • wearing a black derby hat

Mass hysteria and the Mysterious Axeman’s Jazz

One of the most compelling parts of this case for me was trying to picture in my mind the mass hysteria the locals must have experienced during the Axeman’s murder spree.

At the height of this hysteria comes a letter from the Axeman (supposedly but unverified) to a local news editor for the New Orleans Times-Picayune

Hell, March 13, 1919
Esteemed Mortal:
They have never caught me and they never will. They have never seen me, for I am invisible, even as the ether that surrounds your earth. I am not a human being, but a spirit and a demon from the hottest hell. I am what you Orleanians and your foolish police call the Axeman.
When I see fit, I shall come and claim other victims. I alone know whom they shall be. I shall leave no clue except my bloody axe, besmeared with blood and brains of he whom I have sent below to keep me company.
If you wish you may tell the police to be careful not to rile me. Of course, I am a reasonable spirit. I take no offense at the way they have conducted their investigations in the past. In fact, they have been so utterly stupid as to not only amuse me, but His Satanic Majesty, Francis Josef, etc. But tell them to beware. Let them not try to discover what I am, for it were better that they were never born than to incur the wrath of the Axeman. I don‘t think there is any need of such a warning, for I feel sure the police will always dodge me, as they have in the past. They are wise and know how to keep away from all harm.
Undoubtedly, you Orleanians think of me as a most horrible murderer, which I am, but I could be much worse if I wanted to. If I wished, I could pay a visit to your city every night. At will I could slay thousands of your best citizens, for I am in close relationship with the Angel of Death.
Now, to be exact, at 12:15 (earthly time) on next Tuesday night, I am going to pass over New Orleans. In my infinite mercy, I am going to make a little proposition to you people. Here it is:
I am very fond of jazz music, and I swear by all the devils in the nether regions that every person shall be spared in whose home a jazz band is in full swing at the time I have just mentioned. If everyone has a jazz band going, well, then, so much the better for you people. One thing is certain and that is that some of your people who do not jazz it on Tuesday night (if there be any) will get the axe.
Well, as I am cold and crave the warmth of my native Tartarus, and it is about time I leave your earthly home, I will cease my discourse. Hoping that thou wilt publish this, that it may go well with thee, I have been, am and will be the worst spirit that ever existed either in fact or realm of fancy.
The Axeman

As you can imagine this letter sparked quite the excitement prompting numerous sleepless nights.

This is a cartoon depicting the mood at the time. Notice the exhausted looking family forcing themselves to stay awake and play jazz music so as not to get butchered.

Here is a video I found of the Axeman’s Jazz (ragtime version 1919)

And I believe that this is the more modern day version of the same tune.

Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde personality.

A local newsman reached out to retired detective Joseph Romano for an expert opinion on the Axeman (50 years before the term “profiler” existed).

He says,

“The murderer is likely a Jekyll and Hyde personality, like Jack the Ripper. A criminal of the dual personality type may be a respectable, law abiding citizen when his normal self. Then suddenly the impulse to kill comes upon him and he must obey it.”

Was the Axeman a vigilante that spawned his hatred from the Italian ‘Black Hand Mafia?

Ten years before the Axeman’s first murder an influential and well-respected police superintendent, David Hennessey was walking home after a late night at the office.

This content is restricted to subscribers

As he was about to enter his home he was gunned down in cold blood in front of his doorsteps.

Hennessey whispered that his assailant was a “Dagoe”, the slang-term for Italian.

This prompted a complete roundup of nineteen Italians who were all charged with the Hennessey’s murder.

However, due to minimal evidence and reasonable doubt all nineteen were found Not Guilty, provoking outrage in the courtroom.

Following the trial a group of 18,000 vigilantes marched on the prison steps demanding Italian blood be shed for the murder.

Could the Axeman have been a vigilante seeking revenge for the former police superintendent’s murder?

The Axeman’s final murder (that we know of)

Father of six Mike Pepitone was brutally murdered on October 27, 1919 in front of his wife Esther Pepitone.

This content is restricted to subscribers

When police arrived they noticed the couples mattress was saturated in blood and a picture of the Virgin Mary had been “speckled with crimson dots.”

Both left and right walls were covered with Mike’s blood as he was chopped at least eighteen times in the face leaving his appearance, “bashed and battered into an almost unrecognizable mass.”

What I found most creepy is Esther claimed she saw two silhouettes of men leaving the room that night.

Who was the mysterious Axeman?

Why did he stop killing?

May 12, 1994 is a day that author Sarah Perry will never forget. In her best-selling memoir “After The Eclipse”, Sarah describes the horrific night in a personal prose that is both powerful and tear-jerking.

The beautiful red-haired Crystal Perry’s life was ripped away during a rainy ’94 summer night in Bridgton Maine.
ichael Hutchinson, 32, of Bridgton was convicted in April of the murder of Crystal Perry on May 12, 1994. He was not arrested until May 2006 after being linked to the crime through DNA evidence.
Crystal Perry’s final resting place is at the North Bridgton cemetery. RIP

The Heinous Crimes of ‘The Collector’ & ‘Kansas City Butcher’, Robert Berdella

Nothing else sums up the 80’s like a naked man running down the street wearing a dog collar after jumping from the second story window .

Don’t you guys agree?

That once-in-a-lifetime sight happened on April 2nd, 1988 in a small subdivision in Kansas Missouri at 4315 Charlotte Street.

After police interviewed the 22 year Chris Byrson about his story, they immediately gained access to Berdella’s property via search warrant.

What they found in the home and backyard would haunt detectives for the rest of their lives.

First, they unearthed a human head, partly decomposed, but still very surreal from the ground.

Next were the photographs, most never made public due the the graphic nature of men being tortured to death.

The ones that were are here.

Evidence photos NSFW

Robert “Bob” Berdella grew up in a deeply religious Roman Catholic home in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio in early 1950s.

Bob’s father’s sudden death when he was still a teenager left a lasting grief on him and he soon started to lose faith in his religion.

Bob’s homosexuality also came at an early age, most likely stemming from a workplace incident where he was sexually assaulted by a male co-worker.

The 12-page document provides additional information about the investigation that led officers to arrest Frazee.

In a preliminary hearing Tuesday, a Colorado Bureau of Investigation agent testified that their investigation revealed Frazee blindfolded Berreth as she was smelling candles, then beat her to death with a baseball bat. Several days later, Frazee burned Berreth’s body outside his mother’s property in Florissant, according to the testimony. He then dumped the remains in a river or a dumb, according to the testimony.

This information was provided to investigators by Krystal Jean Lee Kenney, who was also charged in connection with the case. Kenney pled guilty earlier this month to tampering with evidence. As part of her plea deal, she agreed to testify against Frazee.

Frazee is charged with first-degree murder, solicitation to commit murder, tampering with a deceased human body, and committing a crime of violence.
