King Von Rapper Dies In Violent Death Caught on Camera
This story is a continuation of the Murder of Gakirah Barnes, the 17-year-old female gangster allegedly responsible for killing 17 rival gang members before she was gunned down in 2014. Her killer, a rapper called King Von, was murdered in the street of an Atlanta nightclub in 2021, proving that the Chicago gang violence is not confined within its borders.
Chicago raised rapper Dayvon Bennett, known as 'King Von', was gunned down in an Atlanta street one month after he released his latest album "Welcome to O-Block".
King Von's autopsy was leaked to the media. He was shot down in an Atlanta street in 2020.
Von left the Opium Nightclub and headed to Monaco Hookah Lounge, where, according to the police report, "two men approached the group in the parking lot, and the two groups of men started to argue with each other. The argument quickly escalated to gunfire between the groups."
Lil' Gangster
Dayvon Daquan "King Von" Bennett was born on 9 August 1994 in Chicago.
Bennett's father, Walter Bennett, spent most of his time in prison and was not a big part of Dayvon's (or his 4 half-siblings) life. Dayvon looked up to his father, who was a well-known street gangster with the given name "Silk". A sniper's bullet of the opposing gang killed silk when his son was 11.
King Von often mentioned his father "Silk" on his social media accounts.
Von often referred to himself as "Grandson" and in a social media post, explains why.
“When I was in jail, I got the name Grandson because I reminded people of King David. The older guys in jail, guys who were around when David was around, would call me that ‘cause I carried myself like him. King David was a legendary figure and a guy everybody looked up to. He ran the streets with his own morals and his own code, and that’s the code I live by too. That’s why people call me Grandson.”
King Von also discusses this in an interview here.
Catching Bodies
King Von was named as the primary shooter in multiple homicides, but he was never found guilty.
King Von has been accused of at least two murders, but has beaten the charges because of a lack of evidence in the crimes.
Von faced one count of first-degree murder in 2014 when he was 19-years-old after a May 29th shooting at the 5700 block of South LaSalle Street.
A rival gang member Malcolm Stuckey, 19, was shot in the head and witnesses identified King Von as the shooter. The State acquitted Von.
Legacy
Kema's Instagram account. Interestingly, she is an Army officer. Thank you for your service.
King Von's funeral was private and his body was buried in an unknown location on 15 November 2020.
The former rapper leaves behind two kids, one by Kema, an Army Officer, and the other by former girlfriend Asian Doll.
Since Von expected to be killed by an enemy, he prepared his family and children to be financially secure for their entire lives.
According to Von's manager, Track, “He owns all his masters. He wasn’t an artist that sold his publishing. So, everything belongs to him. It’s a blessing from God because his kids and his family will be good for the rest of they life. As a team, our number one focus is to make sure that his immediate family is taken care if. His mom. You know, his sisters, his brothers. Von had two kids. Just making sure they got a trust. Trust funds. Whatever income.”
