Sheila Davalloo & Her Tangled Web Of Sex, Lies, & Bloody Murder
Sheila Davalloo is an American murderer convicted of stabbing her now-ex husband with a kitchen knife during a kinky sex game and the murder of her romantic rival Anna Lisa Raymundo. Her case became well known after being featured on Snapped.
Davalloo’s Kinky Games
Under the guise of bringing more intimacy back into the marriage, Sheila Davalloo asked her husband Paul Christos if they could play a kinky sex game.
Blindfolded and handcuffed to a kitchen chair, each person takes turns trying to guess what object is being placed on their skin. Sheila has guessed all of her turns correctly and then it was her husband's turn to be blindfolded.
The object being rubbed across Paul’s chest felt similar to an unlit candle, but it was really a 4-inch pairing knife.
Paul feels a sharp pain in his chest and hears his wife scream, “Oh, my god, I think I hurt you. You’re bleeding.”
Shelia had thrusted the knife into her husband’s chest twice as he remained handcuffed to the wooden chair.
While her husband laid dying, Shelia rushed to the kitchen to grab the phone. She claimed to her husband that she has called 911 and the ambulance was on their way.
The ambulance never arrived.
Sheila informs her husband that she has lost the handcuff keys as well. Christos tells Davalloo to break the chair and luckily she obliged.
After the near impossible task of convincing Sheila to rush him to the hospital, the two make their way to the Behavioural Health Center of Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla, New York. Later, Paul Christos will claim that Davalloo took her time in driving him there.
Now at the hospital, Sheila feels pressured for time as she had already called over her secret boyfriend, Nelson Sessler (more on him later), for a dinner date once her husband stopped bleeding out all over the condo floor.
According to the official report, State vs. Davalloo (linked below) this is happened next:
Sheila Davalloo got out the car and opened the rear driver’s side door. Christos thought Sheila was going to help him out of the car until he saw an angry expression on her face and saw her lunge at him with the knife.
Not only did she stab her husband twice in the chest during the kinky sex game, but she now successfully stabbed Paul a third time.
Christos manages to free himself from his deranged knifed wife long enough to get the attention of the hospital staff.
The Assistant DA stated that the stabbing “wasn’t only intentional, it was premeditated - that Davalloo wanted Christos dead because she was obsessed with her lover and co-worker, Nelson Sessler.”
Davalloo was arrested and charged with second-degree attempted murder, first-degree assault, and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon.
She claimed she was “confused” and ‘“didn’t realize she was doing it.”
Fatal Attraction
According to Nelson Sessler, he did not know that Shelia Davalloo had a deadly obsession with him.
Sessler was still grieving over the murder of his serious girlfriend Anna Lisa Raymundo who was found dead in her apartment on November 8, 2002,
Purdue Pharma hired Nelson Sessler in September 2000 as a research pharmacist in the research and development sector.
Sessler met both of the women he was seeing, Sheila Davalloo and Anna Lisa Raymundo, while working at Purdue.
As his relationship with Raymundo began getting more serious, he began ignoring Davalloo, something that drove her crazy with jealous rage.
The Romantic Rival
Anna Lisa Raymundo had been working for Purdue for several years. At 32-years-old she was “beautiful dark, with eyes to match” and a smile so large it she lit up any room.
An immigrant from the Philippines, Anna Lisa received her bachelor’s at Harvard University and a Master’s from Columbia University in public health.
According to her father, Anna Lisa “was the perfect daughter and an excellent human being.”
Raymundo was brutally murdered inside her own home at 123 Harbor Drive on November 8, 2002.
Officers were dispatched after they received a 911 call from Raymundo’s “neighbor”, which was obviously Davalloo, describing a domestic argument that was occurring in the next apartment.
The dispatcher noted that Davalloo actually placed the call from a local Duchess hamburger and hotdog restaurant across the street on Shippan Avenue. However, when police checked the location out, the caller had mysteriously vanished.
The obvious prime suspect for police was Raymundo’s boyfriend Nelson Sessler, however he was quickly ruled out when security cameras at Purdue Pharma precisely tracked his movements for the entire day.
It was only after the attempted murder of Davalloo’s husband did police classify her as a prime suspect for Raymundo’s killing.
“Somebody hated this woman”
Anna Lisa Raymundo’s face was completely disfigured, an act characteristic of a female killer.
Raymundo was stabbed repeatedly, “brutally attacked… there was so much blood” and her entire apartment showed signs of a death struggle with her attacker.
She suffered 9 stab wounds to the face, left cheek, neck, and shoulder areas. The fatal blow being a “straight entry” stab through her left lung.
The victim’s official cause of death was internal bleeding, and she was alive during the entire grisly attack.
The police arrived only an hour after Anna Lisa succumbed to her death. “The blood had not had time to begin coagulating. Puddles of blood were shiny and wet. Tacky. The victim herself appeared to be still bleeding out.”
When asked about the brutality of the victim’s demise, Greg Holt, a detective that worked the case, stated that “somebody hated this woman”.
Is Sheila Davalloo innocent?
She seems to think so. Even after Davalloo serves her 25-year-prison sentence for trying to off her husband with her kinky sex game, she will still need to serve another 50 years for the murder of Anna Lisa Raymundo.
She could parole, but she would be 100 by then.
