YouTuber Timothy Wilks Fatally SHOT to DEATH During "Fake Robbery Prank"... seriously, I guess this is a thing now
Timothy Wilks was an American YouTuber who was shot to death while filming a "fake robbery prank". Wilks' shooter, 23-year-old David Starnes Jr., was not charged with the shooting.
Bro, It's a Prank
I know this story sounds like something The Onion would cook up, but unfortunately, it really happened.
It was around 9:20pm in early 2021 when Timothy Wilks, 20, and an unidentified friend started the camera. Wilks was desperate for fame and internet clout and the duo thought of the perfect plan to achieve it.
With the camera running (they have not released the actual video), and brandishing butcher knives, the two men approached a crowd leaving the Urban Air Trampoline and Adventure Park in Nashville TN.
As the group of friends screamed, Wilks and his buddy yelled, "this is a robbery, give me your fucking money!"
What the two men didn't know was that David Starnes Jr., 23, was a licensed firearm carrier and was actively carrying his gun.
Responding to this prank as well, 2 men threatening his group with butcher knives, Starnes grabbed his firearm and shot Timothy Wilks.
Wilks apparently screamed, "bro, this is a prank, ", but by then the bullets were already out of the chamber and headed his direction.
No charges were ever filed, and police classified the shooting as self defense.
